De Clare Court Tenants were invited to a 1940's style street party lunch. Tenants were invited to wear 1940's fashion and bring 1940's memorabilia. The lunch was also an ideal time to celebrate one of our oldest residents birthday Dorothy Bracwell who turned 95 on the day. She have been in her late twenties during the 1940's.The food was simple but mouth-watering, a Herring starter, Spam Fritter or Barley Mince with vegetables for main course and the old favourites Bread and Butter Pudding or Rice Pudding for Dessert. The tenants enjoyed listen to music from the era, and chatted about "good old days". The Celtic Catering kitchen staff also dressed for the occasion and fun was had by all with the guess who pictures!
