 PROVIDING AFFORDABLE QUALITY HOMES
| Pembrokeshire Housing Association Limited is a not for profit Industrial and Provident Society. It is registered on charitable rules with the National Assembly for Wales and the Financial Services Authority.
The Association was formed in 1981, and since that time it has achieved significant and consistent growth. It currently has approximately 1600 homes in management.
It is the local housing association being the only one based and operating exclusively in Pembrokeshire.
|
| The properties are distributed from St. Davids in the northwest of the County to Saundersfoot in the southeast.
They range from individual properties in some villages through to estates, the largest of which comprises 62 houses and flats in the county town of Haverfordwest.
It also provides Supported Housing Projects for people with special needs. These are often managed on a day-to-day basis by specialist third parties from both the voluntary and statutory sectors.
|
| The Association's main purpose is providing affordable quality homes for rent.
It does however operate a low cost home ownership scheme, Homebuy Option, with National Assembly funding. This provides assistance to first time buyers, who otherwise could not afford a mortgage for the full purchase price, to step on the first rung of the home ownership ladder.
All the accommodation it provides reflects the needs identified in the Council's Housing Strategy.
|
| The Association has a successful track record of co-operation with Pembrokeshire County Council as the strategic housing authority, has developed a number of partnership projects.
Its subsidiary, Pembrokeshire Care & Repair 2000 Limited, specifically manages the Care & Repair Services for the county.
This provides advice, information and assistance to elderly or vulnerable disabled residents to enable them to remain in their own homes in comfort, safety and security. |
