Moving home
- 1. I want to end my tenancy what do I do?
- 2. I would like to move to another property, how can I do this?
- 3. Is there a scheme that will help me buy a property, if I can't afford to buy one on the open market?
Q1. I want to end my tenancy what do I do?
You must give 4 weeks notice in writing. You may do this by letter or by completing a standard form available from our office. All tenancies end on a Sunday, so 4 weeks will be taken from the next Sunday after receipt of your notice.
Q2. I would like to move to another property, how can I do this?
You can swap homes with another tenant, but please ask us first. We call this a mutual exchange, please contact us to view the list of people who are interested in a swop, or to add your details.
HomeSwapper
Pembrokeshire Housing subscribes to Homeswapper to help tenants move to either a larger or smaller property, or to another area altogether by undertaking a mutual exchange with another Council or Housing Association tenant.
What is HomeSwapper? It's the UK's largest community of social housing tenants looking to swap homes, which is used by both tenants and landlord. Tenants can use HomeSwapper to move locally or right across the UK. A swap may be a quicker way of moving that waiting for a transfer.
Any social tenant can join HomeSwapper. Once registered, HomeSwapper will check for any possible new swaps for you. If you are interested in a match use the other tenant's details to get in touch to view one another's properties.
To find out more go to www.HomeSwapper.co.uk or contact Pembrokeshire Housing.
ChoiceHomes@Pembrokeshire
To move to another home simply join ChoiceHomes@Pembrokeshire, by completeing an application form and returning to us. Q3. Is there a scheme that will help me buy a property, if I can't afford to buy one on the open market?
We do not presently operate what was known as the Homebuy Option Scheme as funding for this scheme from the Welsh Assembly Government has ceased.
This scheme or a similar scheme may be re-introduced in the future. We will keep you informed of this.
